FAB St A
We are a group of ordinary people from St Austell who have become completely disillusioned with regard to decisions about our Town. We have lost ownership of our own community and want it back.
In April 2009 St Austell IS going to have its own town council.
If you are happy about how things have been run in our town for the past 10 years or so then you need do nothing.
However, if you long for change, then NOW is our window of opportunity!
Firstly, suggestions are requested for your priorities for St Austell.
Secondly, volunteers are needed for the Working Group which is to be set up within the next few weeks to plan for the Town (& locally Parish) Councils. By default the existing Restormel Councillors will run this if others don't get on board.
Thirdly, volunteers will be needed next year to stand as Town Councillors. Twenty are needed and if insufficient people volunteer then the existing Restormel Councillors will, by default, run the show.
In the opinion of many people, party politics is inappropriate for local town councils. Look what it's done to our town! So, St Austell desperately needs women and men of goodwill, integrity and independence (who will not be paid) whose sole aim is to restore the prosperity of our community.
